IEM Officials pull up stakes to move to North Carolina - Schools too bad to attract employees needed

If a 25 year old company can't attract the types of employees they need because those employees would have the added expense of private schools, what does that say for Tangipahoa?  Can Hammond attract business?  Can the parish?  Tangipahoa schools are among the worst in the state.

When will Mark Kolwe sit down with Pat Morris to find answers?  The School Board wants to spend $250 million dollars of your money for more magnet programs.  They've already admitted to failure with the magnet schools in Hammond and they want more money for what?  More failure?

Charter schools seem to be the only answer for now.  Charter schools take the money and authority away from the school board and put it in the hands of the people who sit on their various boards.  These people, ordinary citizens interested in educating children, are likely more equipped at rolling up their sleeves and getting back to the job of educating children than are the school board and especially Mark Kolwe, who himself is not an educator.

It is time the citizens wake up and vote out this school board, get rid of Mark Kolwe and work with Pat Morris to educate all the children in the parish who are perishing at the hands of the school board.
