The people of Tangipahoa Parish, both black and white, spoke very loud in rejecting an humongous tax that is now known was not needed, as per the admission of the TPSS's administration. The eyes of the people are really wide open. The thing about lying is that when you tell one, you normallty forget what you said, and anyone paying attention to that type of verbiage can tell the difference; and as the late Ricky Ricardo would say, "you (some politicians and others) need to do some 'splaining'.
Some politicians who would use what is viewed as ignorance among voters fear the outcome(s) of the people being educated and continuing to become knowledgable about what is really happening in the political arena(s), and WOULD band together to silence the majority, both outwardly and yes, some silently.
Knowledge and people working together is powerful.
This is what is now happening in Tangipahoa Parish as this "elephant is being eaten, one bite at a time." No longer will the "good old buddy system" plague this parish. There is too much potential in this parish to offer where all citizens who want what is best for all see what is positive happen come to full fruition, both for adults and children.
"Together we stand, but divided we fall" is as true today, as it was during our forefather's time. It is painfully obvious what is in the works to silence the majority; however, in today's technological climate, why would anyone attempt to silence Ken and others who speak loudly about the wrongs in the political arena of those who make attempts to "keep things as they are."
The April 30th Tax defeat in Tangipahoa Parish says it all. A change continues to come, and will continue until all that is right is done, and done with elected officials who are elected by those who see the need to make that change happen with elected officials that truly listen to the "will(s) of the people, especially their constituients."
Afterall, the buck stops with the voters of this parish in matters that matter the most.
The voters are truly the ones with the power!!!
Finally, if you are a politician, and are not guilty of the aforementioned, this discourse is not for you, however, if you are guilty of the aforementioned, it is for you, and you should be cautious in how you do not listen to your constituients. We are watching you closely.
